• From Whitesburg - The Resort is 4 1/2 miles from Pine Mountain Junction in Whitesburg. At the Pine Mountain Junction pretend you are going to McDonald’s. Pass those Freedom Fries by and take US 119 S toward Cumberland/Harlan to the very top of the mountain, a mere 4 1/2 miles. At the top you will start downhill. Put on your left turn signal. The driveway to the Walled-In Pond is to the left. Take it. Park in the Barking Lot.
• From Cumberland - Take US 119 N to the very top of the mountain. It’ll be the Lake on the right. You can’t miss it. Famous Last Resort Words.Just a note. Every county that has a way over Pine Mountain (the entire ridge from the Breaks to Cumberland Gap) has a tendency to call that area “Pine Mountain.” So don’t confuse Letcher County’s Pine Mountain with Harlan County’s for example.Hope you never get lost again.

This is the only Lake beside the road on top of the mountain. At night it is well lit, as it should be. It is also the only residence on the mountain. If you should happen to miss it and come upon the entrance to the Little Shepherd Trail. Turn around and you’ll soon be there.
